Laerke

Currently Studying to be a Midwife in Denmark

I have always wanted to be a midwife, but since my grades were not quite high enough, I had to gain healthcare work experience, and that was how I found Jonathan. I worked for Jonathan from July 2020 to July 2021. The job is challenging and requires a lot of you, but I also found it very rewarding. I worked during the pandemic, which made everything a bit more difficult, and meant that I didn't get to experience as much of the British culture as I would have liked. However, the job helped me mature, become more independent, and gain confidence in myself and my abilities. And I have made some life-long friends in the other girls that I worked with.

I feel very blessed to have been invited into Jonathan's family, and they will always have a special place in my heart. I would definitely recommend working for Jonathan

Louise

Is planning to study physics and maths in Copenhagen!

"I worked for Jonathan between July 2020 and July 2021, and I really enjoyed my time with him and his family. I have learned so much about the responsibilities of healthcare jobs, teamwork and what it takes to care for a totally dependent person. Therefore, I would definitely recommend it for anyone. Of course, it being during lockdown it was a very demanding job, but working for Jonathan and with the other carers made it much easier, because of the friendships and memories I made."

Hannah

Is now working in the UK with horses, prior to returning to Germany & travelling

“Working as a carer for Jonathan has taught me many useful skills that I am grateful for. I have gained insight in the routine of a person who is totally dependent on others and I learned about different medical conditions of a disabled person. I did not have any experience as a carer before this, so it was a great opportunity to get to know the different tasks and responsibilities. I really enjoyed being able to make Jonathan’s life easier and assist him with everyday tasks. There is a lot of responsibility that comes with the job, but I always felt comfortable since I was working in a very friendly atmosphere. While being one of Jonathan’s carers I have also made some great friendships that I would not want to miss. I am still living in the UK for now, working on a yard with horses. I definitely recommend this job for anyone who enjoys helping others and would like to gain experience in the field of care work.”

Hella

Is currently on the Faroe Isles and hopes the study midwifery.

“I have for a long time dreamed of becoming a midwife, and I hope that my time working for Jonathan, will help me achieve that goal. I have learned so much about myself, and how a paralyzed person is living . I have grown so much, and its an amazing opportunity to challenge yourself, but also get new friendships. Its not an easy job, as you have to go past your boundaries sometimes, and be prepared to be there for the person 24/7. You will have tough times, but when you are a team, you will get through it together. Jonathan is a very sweet and playful person, I very much enjoyed spending time with him. Working for Jonathan has taught me that you should not let anything stand in your way to your dreams. You should live up to your fullest potential.”

Alberte

Is now studying medicine in Denmark

“I applied for the job as one of Jonathan’s carers to get experience in the field. The job gave me a better understanding of patient care and how being a health worker is very much a teamwork - in this case with Jonathan and the other carers. We were four danish carers when I worked for him and I definitely got friends for lives in them. Jonathan is a really nice man to work for and has a good sense of humour which comes in handy when you are working so close with him. Working for Jonathan was definitely the right choice for me and I can only recommend it.”

Clara

Hopes to study the History of Art in Copenhagen.

“Working with Jonathan and living abroad (especially with the covid-circumstances) definitely gave me a great sense of responsibility and I’ve learned a lot - healthcare-wise and about myself.”

“Working as a carer for you definitely gave me some very great insight of what it’s like to work in healthcare-oriented jobs. I would never want to be without the experience of working for you.”

Stine

Currently enjoying working & travelling! Proir to studying Construstion Engineering in Denmark!

"I worked for Jonathan from December 2020 to July 2021 and lived with him the whole time. The job started with a thorough introduction that made me feel safe in the job even though I had never cared for anyone before. All through my stay Jonathan was very thoughtful and he really wants his carers to be happy. With that being said the job is still hard and you have long days where you need to be available 24/7 so it requires a lot of you to be a carer. At Jonathans I had long and hard working days but most of these also contained a lot of fun and joking around with Jonathan and the other carers. I learned so much about healthcare and especially about myself in this job and as a bonus I also got to experience parts of the UK (when Covid was not too bad)"
